Golf
Mesquite has quietly become one of the best golf destinations in the Southwest, and the courses at CasaBlanca and Virgin River make a pretty strong case. Both courses are gorgeous yet challenging at the same time. The water hazards, bunkers, and elevation changes will humble your scorecard in the best possible way. The CasaBlanca Golf Club, which plays host to the annual Nevada Open, winds through the Virgin River basin with 18 championship holes. Over at the Palms Golf Club, more than 200 palm trees frame a par-72 layout where the front nine plays wide and the back nine gets dramatically vertical, including a 15th hole with a 114-foot drop from tee to fairway. Both courses offer full practice facilities, a pro shop and lessons and are within six minutes of the other. Bring your A-game, or at least your best excuses.
POOL ENTERTAINMENT
CasaBlanca’s CasaPoolooza concert series is what happens when your favorite summer setlist needs a getaway. Free poolside concerts bring popular artist tribute acts from Bruce Springsteen and Aerosmith to Bruno Mars and Prince to Mesquite. Stay up with the party people for After Dark DJ sets in the CasaBlanca Showroom that run till midnight. Doors open at 6:30PM, with shows starting at 8PM.
Dining
Dining at Virgin River Casino & Lodge offers something for everyone. The new 88 Seats brings a modern Chinese dining experience, while Virgin River Café offers a wide variety of dishes to choose from. Sierra’s Buffet completes the lineup with rotating options to satisfy any craving.
THINGS TO DO IN MESQUITE
When visiting CasaBlanca and Virgin River, plan an extra day or two into your itinerary. With Zion National Park 45 miles out, Valley of Fire practically in our backyard, and Gold Butte National Monument, with its ancient petroglyphs and rugged desert terrain only 10 miles away, the casino is just the base camp. Looking to get off the beaten path? Sand Hollow offers red sand beaches, ATV trails, and paddleboarding, while Bryce Canyon, the Grand Canyon’s North Rim, and the slot canyons of Kanab are all within reach. What’s even better is that Mesquite Journey Rewards members get exclusive discounts at Zion Canyon Hot Springs and partner rates at Zion Wildflower Resort.
